The render above shows Inu and Sess without any texure maps, only their base Anime colors with a eyelash and brow transmapped.
Inu has been in the works for well over a year, Sesshoumaru less than a year. Originally, the look of my 3D Inuyasha was based on River Pheonix. Inu's gone through *A LOT* of changes since then, but there is still a bit of River in him, mostly around the eyes and a watered down face shape.
Sesshomaru is a different story. I started with an artistic take of him, but he looked too plastic. So about 6 months ago tried to him more realsitic by "casting" someone to play him. I end up picking Cate Blanchett (Queen Elizabeth in Elizabeth, and the Elf Queen in Lord of the Rings) as his inspiration. He has her cheekbones and face shape now.
